Information Technology and Disabilities e-journal
Information Technology and Disabilities e-journal is being revived in 2012 as a peer-reviewed journal. The revitalized e-journal is a cooperative venture by ATHEN, DO-IT, and EASI. It is a merger of 2 previous ventures: ATHEN E-Journal and Information Technology and Disabilities.
This first issue is now being prepared, and it is scheduled to go online by the end of 2012!
The editors are now accepting proposals for inclusion in its next volume scheduled for the spring or summer of 2013. Editors prefer for authors to first submit an article concept 1-2 paragraphs in length which can be evaluated for suitability. These brief proposal concepts should be sent to the editors by the end of January 2013. The full articles should be submitted by the end of march 2013. Full articles should be accompanied by a 1-2 paragraph abstract to be used in the table of contents.
The revitalized ITD will publish online issues once or twice a year depending on availability of qualified articles and depending on the availability of volunteer support to produce such issues. Before being accepted, articles will be reviewed by at least 2 readers. Articles should be submitted in Word and should make appropriate use of style headers to provide clear organization and easy navigation. The Word document should also include alternative text descriptions for any images, tables should follow Word accessibility standards and citations should conform to the APA guidelines.
In 2012-13, the ITD editors will be Teresa Haven from ATHEN and Norman Coombs from EASI.
