ADA and universally designed IT
- ADA (like Section 504) predates the Web; it does not explicitly state that the online environment
- must be universally designed.
- must conform to certain technical standards.
- However, most legal challenges in the past 10-15 years have been ruled in favor of the plaintiffs who complained that inaccessible IT products and services are discriminatory and in violation of ADA.
