"Virtual Tags"

• Acrobat and Reader will try to make "pretend" or virtual Tags when you open an untagged PDF document and are using adaptive technology.
• This has, unfortunately, confused the issue of accessible tagged PDF.
• These "Tags" are "created" each time the PDF is opened and are therefore not reliable.
• Cannot view or edit these virtual Tags…it is simply a tool to try and provide some access where there is none.
• If you are remediating PDF documents, do not let Virtual Tags be created!
• I find that they can interfere with the ability to correctly Tag a document.
