NVDA Usage - Statistics

• Web AIM conducted screen reader usage surveys in 2008 & 2009
• Surveyed more than 1100 users in Dec-08 and over 650 in Sep-09
• From Dec-08 to Sep-09, NVDA usage has increased overall
• Dec-08 - NVDA ranked third most used screen reader - 8% of users
• Users without disabilities were more likely to use NVDA - 10.2%
• Oct-09 - NVDA ranked 4th as the primary screen reader
• But NVDA was ranked second most commonly used - 25.6%
• Out of nine screen readers, only Jaws was more commonly used
• We are also encouraged to see VoiceOver usage rise in 2009
