Types of Columns in Word
- These examples are for Word 2010 but the same principles apply for Word 2003 or 2007.
- Select the text first. I find that this helps localize the application of columns.
- Two types of columns:
- Newspaper columns.
- Parallel columns.
- If you are using parallel columns you'll also want to use section breaks. This will let you better position headings on one side of the page and text on the other.
- Keep text left justified. Full justification creates readability problems.
