Below are selected EASI Webinars that we believe are worth providing for those who have become EASI annual Webinar members.
While almost all of these Webinars deal with aspects of IT accessibility, it is crucial that an organization has policies and procedures outlining the need for a system-wide approach and designing inter-departmental structures to support total IT accessibility. Putting it another way, those who fail to plan, plan to fail.
There are Webinars here by 4 authors of their books on accessibility: Bailey, Burgstahler, Coombs and McCall
Faculty and even instructional content designers normally work with common authoring applications, and they do not want to learn the advanced technical aspects of technical accessibility. The applications that come with Microsoft Office and similar tools provided by other vendors can be used in ways that will produce content that is largely accessible without the authors learning such arkane features. Learning how to use these tools as the vendors intended will produce content that will meet most accessibility standards
E-books have proliferated significantly in recent years. E-book formats come in many flabors, and commonly each requires its own e-reader. The accessibility of the e-book format and of its e-reader vary and are changing regularly. DAISY is a format originally designed to be highly accessibility. Currently, there is a broad push to have EPUB3 accepted as a generic standard, and it is being designed to include much of the DAISY accessibility features
Colleges and universities are legally responsible to provide content in alternate formats for students who need that which includes books and other print content used in courses.
Many groups have been producing books in an accessible format. There are 3 major ones which maintain large e-book libraries and make them available to qualified people with disabilities. However, as some e-books are being provided based on universal design, users can also use these books as well. The advantage of these 3 orgnizations is that they are libraries providing books on a free basis from their extensive libraries.
Multimedia content is more complex, and making it fully accessible is also more complicated. E-books focus on making content accessible to the so-called print disabled. Multimedia has to include people with various levels of audio impairments.
The number of Learning Management Systems is shrinking and growing at the same time. While the major CMS vendors are consolidating, new small applications continue to appear. At the same time, each LMS is upgrading and evolving at a rapid pace. Saying anything authoritative is almost impossible.
The Web Accessibility Initiative Web Content Guidelines deal with the technical aspects of creating Web pages and with providing features that will permit the pages to interact successfully with special adaptive technology and with the unique needs of users with disabilities.
There are 2 other Webinars designed to help non-technical content providers provide content that is largely accessible.
Web pages are becoming more dynamic and more interactive. The basic code is being upgraded to HTML5 which will further enhance the flexability of the Web.

Recently, there has been a rapid proliferation of e-books and e-book readers. Some have almost no accessibility while others have good although not perfect accessibility. These Webinars look at this bewildering array of items as well as covering how content providers can create or modify e-books to be more accessible.
