WHEN TO USE A NULL TEXT ATRIBUTE

• When an image is purely decorative and does not convey any content, the user with a disability may not want or need to know about it
• Putting an actual space in the alternative text input field will mean the screen reader totally ignores that image
• Users with vision can readily ignore the decorative items, but anyone using a screen reader would have to listen to their description which may actually distract from understanding the content
