Key Findings for Discussion (con't.)

Young people with disabilities are distinctly different than earlier generations. This is the post ADA and IDEA generation.
They got to go to public schools in a "least restricted environment" and they can get around with curb cuts etc.
They are WAY braver than older PwDs — more interested in being involved in advocacy, more opposed to sheltered workshops and/or sub minimum wage.
They were largely born as a PwD, are still living at home with their parents, and are less comfy with idea of affirmative action, though they think something must be done to enable employment.
