Read Out Loud

• Just say NO!
• Can only read a page or entire document.
• Cannot get more granular information like table cells, column titles, row headers, headings, nested lists and so forth.
• Read Out Loud was added to Acrobat and Reader to give everyone an idea of what it might be like if you had to listen to a PDF document.
• It is a minimal Text-to-Speech tool and should NOT be used for validation or depended upon as "the tool" for reading PDF documents!
• NVDA is free! It is a full screen reader that can help you examine the more granular pieces of a PDF document.
• We've been asking Adobe to remove Read Out Loud since they put it into the user interface.
• It is like saying, I'm going to evaluate the structure of a house and I'm going to use a bicycle to do it.
