- In the beginning, perhaps out of panic to "get it done" many of us were tasked with ensuring that PDF documents were "accessible" or compliant.
- The main problem was that we had to train ourselves on what that meant and how to do it.
- Do we expect that every employee knows how to use InDesign or Photoshop…or even Excel or PowerPoint>
- Why do we expect that every employee, or those tasked with ensuring the accessibility of documents "does it all?"
- Why wouldn't we out-source the accessibility of PDF to qualified professionals?
- It is one thing to understand and create more accessible documents; it is another to expect that those of us charged with ensuring the accessibility of PDF documents are proficient in programs like InDesign and even Acrobat.
- We need to begin rethinking how we ensure that PDF documents are accessible.
- Standard of quality and consistency of deliverable.
- It takes literally years to be proficient at making a PDF document accessible unless you are doing it all the time, every day.
- This webinar series will give you an overview, BUT, you will not be able to do everything you need to do in order to make a PDF accessible.
