Limitations With Display Info.

• NVDA does not use a video intercept or graphics hooking
• We rely on accessibility and native APIs to obtain information
• This is the best way - but some interfaces are not accessible
• I.e. Applications that don't use standard controls may not be accessible
• Other screen readers hook into the graphics card to get information
• Video intercepts reduce portability - need to be installed on the PC
• Will always favour accessibility APIs - we encourage accessibility
• Will always advocate for improvements to application accessibility
• But we may need graphics hooking to enhance access
