• Many languages inadequately supported by screen readers
• Some languages not supported at all by screen readers
• Translated versions are often more expensive than English
• Translated versions are often outdated - holds users back
• NVDA includes all of its languages in one version
• If a language is not supported, it is relatively easy to add it
• Translations are maintained by the community
