Balancing Columns/Newspaper Columns
- Traditionally Newspaper Columns are balanced.
- This means that both columns have the same number of lines.
- Word is smart enough to calculate what the balance is.
- If you have an odd number of lines selected, there might be one line off, but generally Word tries its best to balance them.
- You can have a line between the columns to help improve accessibility for those using screen magnification or who have a learning or cognitive disability.
- Helps keep focus in the column you are reading in.
