Contents of Intro to DAISY

• DAISY is a system to create digital books with text and audio synchronized.
• A Digital Talking Book (DTB) can include images, formulas in MathML and even video. But almost all available readers only read text, audio and images.
• A DTB can consist in:
• Only the text in XML,
• Only the audio (option not directly available in the Word to DAISY add-in),
• Both the text and the audio.
• An example: The little match girl [1].
• DTBook XML model is a semantically rich structure. Elements are explained in the DAISY structure guidelines [2].
