- "The Promise of Accessible Technology: Challenges and Opportunities," Senate Hearing
- February 7, 2012 (two days ago!)
- Sen. Tom Harkin (D - Iowa), presiding, supports the AIM Commission, saying "This commission is correct. Access to curriculum and instructional materials is a civil right, one that all students should be able to enjoy equally."
- Eve Hill, Senior Counselor to the Assistant AG at the DOJ: "In education, the current transition from print materials to digital materials creates an incredible opportunity for people with print disabilities to finally use the same products as their peers and to gain the same benefits as their peers who do not have disabilities. The emergence of electronic book readers holds great potential to place students with disabilities on a equal footing with students. But that happy result will only occur if the e-book reader is [accessible]."
