New DIAGRAM-funded R&D (cont.)

On the left is the same two-parabola figure from the precalculus book.

On the right is the corresponding tactile graphic, but with the Braille replaced with QR-codes containing exactly the same text. A QR-Code is a two dimensional barcode that can contain any text. A QR-code reader converts the code into text. We are in the process of developing a smartphone-based talking QR-code reader that can help the user get the barcode in the field of view of the camera. The reader is being developed for both the iPhone and Android phones.
