- iBook Store has limited catalog and iBooks textbooks are a proprietary EPUB 3 derivative
- Format: Books are EPUB 2 with Apple's DRM for purchased books (unbreakable, read: lock in)
- Can import EPUB via iTunes or Dropbox
- Pagination does not match paper book for iBooks—number of pages recalculated when page text size changes—but does match for iBooks Textbooks

- Can scan a page via touch, allowing blind users to find content by position
