Creating the Two Documents
- Create a folder for your web site. All of the document we'll work with should be placed in that folder.
- This allows you to zip the folder and put the web site into a learning management system such as Blackboard or Desire2Learn.
- Also lets you test the site on other machines simply by copying the folder.
- To determine whether or not you have access to all files you need to.
- Create a folder called CSS in the web site folder. Case is up to you.
- Open NotePad and create a file called Style.css in the CSS folder. You'll have to change the extension from TXT.
- Create a new file in NotePad called Index.html - again the case is up to you. You will need to be consistent with the case in the names of your documents/files.
- Create the index file to prevent people from gaining access to the files and folders on your server.
