• Remove Language Barriers: in cases where the student or the lecturer is not a native English speaker (ESL), captioning can improve communication.
• Universal Access: make your content as usable as possible by as many people as possible.
• Improving Comprehension: studies have shown that captioning improves comprehension and retention for all viewers (a feature of multi-modal communication).
