PDF Form Basics

• Hierarchy of tasks:
• Is the document scanned? If yes, use Text Recognition Tools.
• Does the document have form controls? If yes, use Forms Tools.
• Does the document have links? If yes, use Create Links from URL/s from Document Processing Tools and/or add links manually.
• THEN add Tags to the document.
• Have to create forms using an untagged PDF.
• In Word or InDesign use Print, Adobe PDF.
• This is the ONLY time you create an untagged PDF.
• If the document is tagged, delete the Tags or the form controls will not be available to adaptive technology.
